Three Cherries was released in 2000 on Perishable Records. It was recorded in Tim and Danni's storefront apartment, inside of a meat locker: a cork-lined, ten-inch-thick wooden room with heavy latched windows and a padded door. The storefront was in an apartment building. The bassist, Noel Kupersmith, lived on the second floor. By day, Tim and Danni would record a song and then they would leave a cassette tape with it at Noel's door at night. The next day Noel would come and record the bass part in one take and play it as if he'd known it all along. Throughout the recording, street noises would seep through the plate glass windows and sneak their way onto the takes. Many stayed.
